Daily Notes and Tasks
A page for every day
Press Ctrl+D, or click Daily notes in the sidebar, and you land on today. There's no need to create anything first: just start typing.
- Days are laid out as one continuous page, so scrolling up takes you back through the past.
- The calendar in the right-hand pane jumps to any date.
- Daily notes live in the Daily Notes folder and are shown with friendly dates, like "Wed, 23rd September, 2026".
- Link from a day to a project or a person, and the day appears in that note's backlinks. Your journal becomes an index of everything you did.
The daily note is a good default home for meeting notes, quick thoughts and the day's to-do list.
Tasks
Any line that starts with a checkbox is a task:
- Something still to do
- Something already done
- Tasks can be nested
- under other tasks
Click a checkbox to tick it off, or type - [ ] to start a new task.
Every task in one place
The Tasks view in the sidebar collects every task from every note, grouped by note, with the most recent first. Tick them off right there, without opening each note. Hide completed in the right-hand pane shows only what's still open.
Try it: the checklist on Welcome to Culma and the tasks on this page are already waiting for you there.
