Links and Backlinks
Links are what turn a pile of notes into a web of ideas. In Culma, linking is as quick as typing.
Making a link
Type [[ or @ and start typing a note's title. Pick it from the list, press Enter, and you have a link. For example, Getting Started and Whiteboards are links.
- Click a link to open the note.
- A link to a note that doesn't exist yet is fine. Ideas for Later leads nowhere today, but it starts working the moment a note with that title exists.
- Renaming never breaks anything. Change a note's title and every link to it is updated.
Backlinks: who links here?
Scroll to the bottom of any note to see backlinks, every note that links to the one you're reading. Look at the bottom of this page: Welcome to Culma links here, and so does the whiteboard How Culma Fits Together.
Backlinks let ideas find each other without you filing them anywhere. Write a thought in today's daily note, link it to a project, and it shows up on the project's page.
Links to the web and email
Paste a web address or type an email address, and it becomes a link by itself. Hover over a web link to change where it points.
