Free is local and complete, and it has no end. Every feature that runs on your device runs for nothing, forever, on one device. You pay when a second device, another person, or our disks are involved — and you can try that part for 30 days.
One device, everything on it, free and with no end. Pay when a second device or another person turns up — and try that part for thirty days before you decide.

Try syncing and sharing for 30 days
Free is local and complete, which means the part you would pay for is the part you cannot try by downloading. So: 30 days of the full plan, no card.
And when it ends, nothing is taken away. Your notes are files in your own folder. An expired trial costs you the second device, not the vault.
The trial is per person rather than per vault, because the credential is drawn once.
The price will not move under you
Published prices, never raised during a term. A perpetual license is never touched.
Questions people actually ask
- What if you get acquired?
- Your notes are Markdown and SVG files in your own folder, and the format and the protocol are documented. A perpetual license cannot be revoked, and a server you run yourself needs nothing from us. The worst case is that you stop receiving updates.
- Is the encryption audited?
- No. The key model and the protocol are published and you can read them, and we will not use the word audited until a report exists and is published here with its findings. A review is commissioned as soon as first sales clear an agreed threshold.
- Our admin must be able to recover an employee's notes.
- Then the notes have to be in a shared folder, which is how an organization should hold them anyway: the members of that folder hold its key, and somebody leaving does not take it with them. A private vault's keys exist only on that person's devices, and no administrator here or at your end can open it. That is the trade, and it is the whole product.
- What if I lose my recovery phrase?
- If you still have one device, pair the new one from it and nothing is lost. If you have lost every device and the phrase, the vault's keys are gone and nobody can bring them back — including us. Keep the phrase somewhere you keep important paper.
- Can we run it ourselves?
- Yes, with a perpetual license or an on-prem subscription. The server runs on your own infrastructure with no kill switch, and the absence of one is the product.
